House Church
Epic is a "house church" gathering each week
in a living room. You are invited on Sunday mornings at 10:30am to the Lyon's home in Coconut Creek for a time of worship, bible study, discussion, and great conversation. In this casual setting we take look at the grand story of scripture, spend time in worship and prayer, and enjoy getting to know one another over a cup of coffee. Sunday Lunch
Sunday Afternoon Lunch: One of the things you will notice right away at Epic is that we value our relationships with one another. So each week after our Sunday Gathering, all those who are able hang out together for lunch. It's a great time to get to know new friends, catch up with old friends, and enjoy laughter and conversation. We hope you are able to stay and be part of this time. If you would like to bring something to add to the lunch table, please email Karen@epic-remix.org.A House Church?
A recent study by the Barna Group estimates
that over 6 million Americans attend house churches.
We are a non-traditional church gathering formed out of a desire to know God and to experience genuine community with others. As a house church, we enjoy face-to-face relationships that grow out of meeting weekly to study and discuss God’s Word.
So what does that look like practically?
- It’s a place where everybody knows your name and you are greeted with a smile.
-You can grab your favorite mug and fill it with coffee or tea before sitting on the sofa next to a friend.
- Children enjoy worshiping with us and then are cared for upstairs so our moms get the opportunity to be a part of the teaching and discussion times.
- The Bible is read and often times discussed as a group. Teaching times may end with the question "What are your thoughts?"
- There's prayer time for those who are traveling, for a friend to regain strength after a tragic accident, and for someone's upcoming job interview.
- Married couples, singles of all ages, teenagers, children, single moms, and college students are all taking communion together.
- There is time to talk with friends after you've filled your plate with Chicken Parmesan or salad for lunch.
- You might receive an invitation to attend a birthday party, a work day at the Community Garden, an event for the homeless, or a recital featuring one of Epic's young people.
- Kids are heard laughing in the swimming pool, while some of the guys are watching the replay from the football game on TV.
Some of us have come from a background of little or no church involvement, others have come because they enjoy the environment of a smaller church community, and some just wanted something different. All of us are here because we love the Lord and want to love others as He has loved us.
